LovableLovablevsFerra

Ferra is the Lovable alternative for internal work, not a product to ship

Lovable builds the app you would ship. Ferra runs the work you would have used it for.

What you end up with

Part of what this tool is for. A workspace with your rows and a dashboard reading them.

Part of what this tool is for. An app you can publish: pages, a data model, an address.

Building for users outside the team

A different tool's job. The audience is the people you work with, not a published site.

Part of what this tool is for. A product for other people, a look you chose, a URL.

Design control

A different tool's job. Nothing to design, no canvas, no data model to declare.

Part of what this tool is for. Pages, components and styling, generated and then yours to adjust.

Getting your own data in

Part of what this tool is for. Reads the spreadsheet, the PDF, the email thread: nobody retypes.

Possible, with a step you do yourself. A published app gives people somewhere to type.

Adding a rule

Part of what this tool is for. Described once, with the arithmetic shown every time it fires.

Possible, with a step you do yourself. The rule lives in the code, moving it means changing the app.

Changing it later

Part of what this tool is for. A new status, a new report, a table nobody planned for: each one is a reply.

Possible, with a step you do yourself. Another pass over the app itself.

Asking a question

Part of what this tool is for. Ask in plain English, every figure links to its rows.

Possible, with a step you do yourself. Read the screens that were built for it.

Dashboards and reports

Part of what this tool is for. Ask for the report and it lands on the dashboard, reading from the same rows.

Possible, with a step you do yourself. A screen generated for the purpose, and regenerated when the purpose changes.

Getting it in front of people

Part of what this tool is for. Nothing to publish, the workspace is live from the first hour and shared with your team.

Part of what this tool is for. Publishing what it builds is part of the job it is for.

One is for your users, one is for your team

Lovable turns a description into software: pages, components, something to publish.

Ferra publishes nothing: your invoices sit here and get asked about.

Ferra
Ferra adding up total overdue invoices in the chat and flagging that the total is over a threshold, next to an invoices dashboard with yearly totals and status charts
Lovable
Lovable building an invoice tracking app: a chat on the left stepping through planning, the data model and the pages, and a live preview of the finished app with a sidebar, stat cards and an invoice table

A rule, not logic you wrote

"Flag it when total overdue goes over five thousand" is a rule in Ferra, described once, arithmetic shown.

Ferra
Ferra adding up overdue invoices in the chat, 2,400 + 1,850 + 3,200 + 2,300 = $9,750 overdue, and then applying a rule: the total is above $5,000, a red-flag level of exposure
Lovable
Lovable generating an invoice tracking app: a chat checklist reading Planning the app, Generating data model, Creating pages and Adding components, beside a live preview of the app with its Dashboard, Invoices, Clients and Payments navigation

The data still has to arrive

A published app gives people somewhere to type. Ferra reads the spreadsheet, the PDF, the email thread, and puts the rows in itself.

It keeps changing

A new status, a supplier table, a Thursday report, in Ferra each is a sentence.

Ferra
Ferra offering next steps after building an invoices setup, "Clear the demo invoices and use my list" and "Tweak the dashboard reports and filters": above an "Or reply directly…" box
Lovable
The tail of a Lovable build, Adding components, Styling the app and Finalizing, above an "Ask Lovable…" box with Attach, Edit and Chat controls, beside the previewed app and its invoice list

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they move a table across: about Ferra, about Lovable, and about which of the two fits the work you actually have.

For internal tracking, yes: tables, dashboard, answers, no app shipped. With real users, Lovable builds it.

A workspace is shared with your team, not a site you publish to the public.

Describe the condition: a new row, changed value or missed date, then an email or update.

Files you upload, emails you forward, connected apps, and public web sources.

No: nothing to design, no data model, no deploy step.
